Explain how your experience affected you as a person
My experience affected me in many ways. It taught me to be more confident in my abilities. It also taught me that when it comes time for me to talk in front of many people and demonstrate, to relax and remember my training. How did you change? I became more aware of many things. I now notice the needs of other students. I also am more confident in my ability to help, instruct, and correct people. How do you see the world differently as a result of your experience? I have become more aware of different needs in order to teach people. I notice when other students in martial arts, school and in the real world need help, without outright asking for it and try to help them to the best of my ability. How did this experience impact or reveal your character? I am more down to earth and willing to help people. I have always been willing to help people, but from this experience I have become more aware of people needing help, without them needing to ask for it. Was this a meaningful experience? why or why not? Yes, now that I have seen the other side and have become an instructor I notice many new things. I notice the importance of alway having someone around to spot you, and the importance of doing things carefully so no one gets hurt. What new knowledge or skills did you learn from this experience? I gained many new skills. The importance of getting help, helping other people, and being confident in your abilities. I also learned about teaching a wider range of age groups and expertise. What would you do differently if you were to start over? I would do a different subject, just to get experience in a different field. I would also be dong it a lot sooner, maybe even my sophomore year, so I could have that experience sooner. |
